The auto director

The auto director takes a rotation of sources in turn, on its own, so a simple multi-camera show can run unattended.

Build a rotation

Choose Add a source, then Add to rotation, for at least two sources. For each one in the list, set its Transition (Cut or Fade, with a length for Fade) and how long it stays On air before moving to the next.

Start it

Press AutoDirector to switch it on — it needs at least two sources in the rotation first — and it reads AutoDirector On while it runs, taking each source in turn and looping back to the start.

Taking over

Any take of your own turns it off. Cut or fade to anything yourself, by hand, a hotkey or a rule, and the auto director stops, leaving whatever you chose on Program. A source in the rotation that currently has no picture loses its turn rather than going to air with nothing on it.
