NDI, SDI and the external display

NDI

Press NDI to send Program out as its own NDI source, carrying the Master mix, so a receiver taking it hears your show. There is nothing to set up: its resolution, frame rate and name all come from your Show, so it is always correct. Master, A and B can each also be sent as their own NDI source, carrying sound and no picture — useful for a monitor mix or a translator feed that needs the audio alone. Preview is not sent over NDI.

SDI (Blackmagic)

If you have a Blackmagic capture device with an output connector, open its output settings to choose which connector carries Program, with Carry the Master mix to embed the sound. Blackmagic Desktop Video has to be installed for this to appear at all.

The external display

External Output sends a clean, full-screen copy of Program to a second display. Choose a specific display, or leave it on Automatic to prefer whichever external display is connected. Scale it Fit (the whole picture, letterboxed if it does not match), Fill (cropped to the display) or Pixel Accurate (centred, one screen pixel per canvas pixel). If the display you chose is not connected, InterDirector does not send Program to a different one in its place: it stops the external output and says so, rather than putting your picture somewhere you did not choose.
