Sources that come back on their own

If a source’s camera, sender or file is not there when InterDirector tries to start it, it does not just fail: it is tried again, on its own, for as long as the Show is open.

What you see

A source waiting to be retried shows Retrying on its card, in the same amber InterDirector uses for anything that needs attention. It keeps trying at widening intervals — one second, then longer, up to thirty seconds between attempts — rather than hammering a device that is not ready, or a network that is down.

What this fixes

A heavy Show whose overlays or Composites come up before everything they depend on is ready, a card that is still being released by the session it just replaced, a camera plugged in a moment late — all of these used to mean starting the source by hand. Now they clear themselves.

Stopping one for real

A source you stop yourself stays stopped. Retrying only applies to a source nobody has told to stop; pressing Stop on a card ends the retries too, and it stays off until you start it again yourself — reopening the Show does not bring it back on its own.
