Inputs

Composite inputs

A Composite is a virtual input built from inputs you already have: add several sources as layers, and the Composite switches as one input, itself, exactly like a camera. The sources it is built from keep working as their own inputs too — a Composite refers to them, rather than taking them over.

Add one

Press Add Input… and choose Composite. It starts empty and transparent, and stays transparent wherever no layer covers it — there is no background colour to set.

Add layers

In the Composite’s own settings, Add Layer lists every other input in your Show; choose one to add it. Layers are ordered back to front, and each has its own Opacity, and buttons to move it toward the front or back, or remove it. A source you add as a layer can stay offline and still be configured here, ready for when it comes up.

Framing a layer

Each layer keeps its own size, position, crop and rotation, set from Size & Position…, the same editor a plain input’s Picture tab uses. Changes to it apply live: if the Composite is already on Program, you will see it move as you drag. A layer does not loop between two framings the way a plain input can — that belongs to an input itself, not to its place inside a Composite.

Next

Framing a source for the full Size & Position editor, and Web pages as inputs, Image and media playlists — both, like any picture input, can be used as one of a Composite’s layers.
